La obra de LUCIA GOMEZ hace parte de una rica y continua tendencia de la pintura no-objetiva interesada en expresar una dimensión espiritual en el arte. Esta manifiesta una concepción del mundo donde están presentes aspectos contemporáneos de espiritualidad que reflejan multiplicidad de búsquedas y respuestas que se han nutrido de corrientes filosóficas y espirituales heterogéneas, entre ellas el contacto con tradiciones orientales y prácticas como el yoga que han penetrado la cultura global.
En este caso se considera la práctica de la pintura como un proceso de introspección meditativo y revelatorio; un viaje de búsqueda análogo al de la vida. Confrontada con el caos de un mundo material en flujo constante y cargado de incidentes, la artista explora su mundo interior y procura reconstruir unidad y trascendencia. La resolución de este proceso resulta en un ámbito donde lo artístico y lo espiritual convergen, donde se visibiliza lo invisible, y se manifiesta una realidad profunda más allá de las apariencias.
Las pinturas de Lucia Gómez se expresan articulando ARQUETIPOS --símbolos ancestrales comunes a todas las culturas, presentes en la naturaleza y arraigados en los subconscientes individuales. Priman las dualidades de luz y oscuridad, las composiciones basadas en la progresión del espiral en búsqueda de un centro de claridad y las geometrías primarias. Ellas constituyen umbrales, pasajes de transformación donde en un juego de equilibrio se reconcilian opuestos conjugando el orden de la geometría con la fluidez de la pintura, línea y textura, y en ocasiones lo figurativo y abstracto. Su proceso no se basa en una estructura rígida preestablecida; en él está presente la espontaneidad de trazos automatistas que obedecen a la necesidad de expresión interna e impulso de catarsis con los que no intenta controlar sino acceder a la fluidez vital, logrando sincronía en la expresión estética y emocional.
